HR Generalist
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on HR Generalist with 56 years of experience managing day-to-day HR operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and knowledgeable about Californias complex employment laws. This role will support full-cycle HR activities including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and HR systems management. The position offers strong opportunities for growth in a collaborative, innovative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer end-to-end payroll processing and ensure timely submission of accurate reports to Accounting.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for mid-level roles in a competitive Bay Area talent market.
- Conduct interviews, coordinate offers, and oversee smooth onboarding and orientation.
- Serve as a trusted partner to employees and managers for workplace issues and inquiries.
- Conduct investigations, mediate conflicts, and ensure fair and consistent policy application.
- Partner with leadership to promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
- Administer health, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, commuter, and wellness programs.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, CA Paid Sick Leave, etc.).
- Ensure proper documentation and secure maintenance of employee records.
- Support performance review cycles and assist with goal-setting processes.
- Coordinate employee development and training programs, including technical upskilling and mental health awareness.
- Partner with managers to track performance metrics and growth plans.
- Maintain and update HRIS systems (e.g., BambooHR)
- Support special projects, cross-functional initiatives, and other HR or administrative tasks as assigned by management to meet evolving business needs.
Qualifications
- 56 years of progressive experience in HR Generalist or HR Coordinator roles.
- Experience in a fast-paced tech or agency environment, ideally within Silicon Valley.
- Bachelors degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of federal and California employment laws and HR compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HR systems such as BambooHR, Workday, ADP, or Lever.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust across teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to create and interpret HR metrics and reports.
- Detail-oriented, empathetic, and professional in handling confidential information.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable managing competing priorities.
- Experience supporting multi-state operations or scaling HR processes for growing teams.
- Exposure to compensation reviews, analytics, or HR project management.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean, with the ability to communicate effectively across global teams.
