Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team at Birmingham Rehabilitation and Wellness Center in Forestdale, AL. As a COTA, you will play a vital role in our multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, working closely with occupational therapists to develop and implement personalized treatment plans for our patients.

Responsibilities :

Assist occupational therapists in conducting evaluations, assessments, and treatments for patients with a wide range of cognitive, physical, and emotional disabilities

Implement treatment plans, including exercises, activities, and interventions designed to improve patients' functional abilities and independence

Monitor patient progress, report changes, and make recommendations to occupational therapists to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, treatments, and progress

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, speech therapists, and social workers, to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care

Participate in patient education and family training to promote carryover of learned skills and strategies

Requirements :

Current COTA certification

New graduates encouraged to apply

Ability to lift, transfer, and support patients as needed

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
