Description

Collision Mechanic specializing in the diagnostics of electrical issues and suspension/steering system of all makes and models.

• Diagnose problems with suspension and steering using diagnostic equipment and test driving.
• Repair/replacing damaged or worn suspension components as per manufacturer specifications such as shock absorbers, struts, knee assemblies, control arms, subframes.
• Alignments based on manufacturers' specifications.
• Test driving vehicles to ensure suspension and steering issues are resolved.
• Mount & balance wheels/tires.
• Manage and maintain safety logs on Lifts, Wheel balancer and alignment machines.
• Perform diagnostics on electrical/mechanical fault codes.
• Replace/R&I Airbags, Headliners, Control Modules.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Abilities: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variable in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Driver's License.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Must possess and maintain acceptable MVR insurability standards. Must pass applicable background and drug screenings.
