Job Description

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth production operation by engaging in daily maintenance routines. Your responsibilities will include mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, machinery setup, minor installations, and preventive maintenance of production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Follow all GMPs and relevant SOPs.
• Perform daily minor troubleshooting and repair of packaging machines and equipment.
• Maintain machine parts and ensure changeover tooling is in good condition.
• Conduct general preventive maintenance on packaging machines and equipment.
• Accurately fill all required maintenance documentation such as Cleaning Logs, Parts Requisition Maintenance Reports, Daily Quality Checks, and Part Requisition Sheets.
• Ensure all safety components and guarding on packaging machines and equipment are operational and properly used.
• Increase productivity by completing maintenance, changeovers, and repair work in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintain equipment, parts, and determine inventory spare part levels.
• Demonstrate a beginner level of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Show aptitude to advance to the next level (Mechanic II).
• Possess basic machine shop knowledge and operate machines like a drill press, and vertical / horizontal band saw, and work with power tools.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WEST CALDWELL, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00 / hr.
