About The Position

Job Title : PACU Registered Nurse

Shift : Day 4x10-Hour

Hours per Shift : 10

Experience : Minimum of 1 year required

License : Florida State or compact license required at time of submission

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

• Level II Trauma Center experience required
• Proficient or Expert in Neurological and Cardiovascular sections of PACU skills assessment
• Ability to titrate drips
• Must be within 30 minutes of the facility for call requirements

Description :

The position is for a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.

Variable start time options are available from 9 AM to 12 : 30 PM.

On-call requirements are Monday to Friday from 11 PM to 7 AM, with additional weekend on-call as needed.

Every other weekend coverage is required, with a total of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period, subject to unit needs.

The nurse will be expected to float to different facilities as needed.

RN must rotate to phase II PACU outpatient discharge when required.

The staffing ratio is 1 : 2.

Documentation system experience is required.

Candidates should have previous PACU experience, with ICU or ER experience preferred.

Travel experience is also necessary.

Basic and advanced life support certifications are required.

The unit primarily serves adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Common patient diagnoses include cardiac arrhythmias, respiratory arrest, and metabolic disorders.

Special procedures include recovery from laparoscopic surgeries, hysterectomies, mastectomies, knee replacements, and more.

Interdisciplinary support is available from various services including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.

Candidates must include references from authority figures within the last year.

The facility requires compliance with health regulations, including vaccination requirements.
