This engineer will lead the development effort for large, clean sheet part 25 nacelle development including : Inlets, Fan Cowls, Thrust Reverser / Core Cowls, and Exhausts. This includes ownership of the integration of the system and interfaces to the engine and aircraft. This includes providing supplier coordination and technical oversight as well as drafting RFPs and Statements of work. This role is responsible for nacelle integration across various functions within our company and across multiple partners and suppliers. This individual will also optimize the nacelle systems for re-use of existing hardware while also optimizing the test plans through the engine development program, qualification, and eventually flight testing. We are a collaborative and creative environment; an ideal candidate would be able to develop and certify a robust system while also thinking creatively about how to minimize the development effort, technical risk and driving simplicity into the design.
Nacelle Development Responsibilities :
- Responsible engineer for nacelle system, including requirements, architecture, interfaces, sizing, analysis, certification plan, etc.
- Interface and lead across program customers, suppliers, and other engineering stakeholders
- Regarded as a subject matter expert and leader, this individual will leverage their own experience and teammates to make the airplane development process better.
Requirements
10+ years of experience in aerospace systems engineering
Bachelor's or master's degree in applicable engineering fieldExperience with all aspects nacelle system development (Inlets, Fan Cowls, Thrust Reverser / Core Cowls, and Exhausts)Experience with CATIA and CAD modelingExperience with the conceptual development / pre-Preliminary Design Review phase is desiredExperience working with external partners and suppliers on development projects in a leadership capacity.Strong certification knowledge and experience with part 25 desired (part 23 is OK).Strong background in qualification programs, airplane and system level testing.Experience maximizing the re-use of commercial off the shelf (COTS) hardware is highly desired.Experience with planning within engine development programs and flight testing is highly desired.Creative, curious, methodical and detail-orientedWorks well in a collaborative environmentExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsApproach problem solving with a holistic viewStrong communication skills and can easily tailor your communication to suit the audienceAbility to lead across multiple teams and companies
