The Senior Accounts Payable Accountant will :

  • Serve as primary backup to existing staff accountant.
  • Support review and posting of entries related to prepaid expenses.
  • Provide customer service escalation support.
  • Review assigned ledger accounts, taking responsibility for required entries or open balances.
  • Ensure SOX compliance.
  • Support completion of payments as often as needed with at least one high-volume weekly run.
  • Manage third-party invoice processing software settings as needed.
  • Support high-volume property tax invoice processing.
  • Provide ad hoc project support as requested.

Qualifications :

  • Experience : 3–5 years preferred; confidence and advisory potential are key, not a strict degree.
  • Core Skills : Journal entry creation (debit / credit), customer service for escalations, and full AP cycle knowledge.
  • Software : Comfortable navigation of the credit card management module is a bonus
  • Journal Entries : Ability to create journal entries, requiring a baseline understanding of debits and credits.
  • Customer Service : Strong skills for handling escalations. The role involves determining the correct action for issues and knowing when to escalate to Steph or beyond
  • AP Cycle : Baseline understanding of the full accounts payable cycle. Critical for a quick and successful onboarding.
  • Credit Card Management Module : Comfortable navigation is a bonus. The company's use of this module is limited to credit card management
