Job Description:
The Plumbing Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, and coordination of plumbing systems across a variety of building types. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to complex projects, and grow within a technically driven MEP consulting environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary waste and vent, storm drainage, natural gas, and specialty systems
• Prepare drawings, riser diagrams, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit
• Coordinate plumbing designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines
• Perform flow, pressure, and drainage calculations to ensure system performance and code compliance
• Integrate sustainable and water-efficient strategies aligned with CALGreen, Title 24, and LEED
• Prepare construction documents, equipment schedules, and technical narratives for permitting and bidding
• Review RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings for conformance with design intent
• Participate in design coordination meetings and site visits
• Support cost estimates, schedules, and project execution for assigned scopes
• Maintain quality and consistency through internal design reviews and QA/QC processes
• Serve as a technical resource for clients and internal teams
• Stay current with evolving plumbing codes and sustainable design technologies
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Plumbing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• 48 years of plumbing design experience in building systems; MEP consulting experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM coordination tools
• Strong knowledge of California Plumbing Code (CPC), California Building Code, NFPA, and CALGreen
• Solid understanding of domestic water, sanitary waste and vent, and storm drainage systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• California PE license preferred or ability to obtain licensure
• Experience with sustainable design practices or LEED documentation is a plus
