Must-Have :

• Ability to perform labor, deliveries, and postpartum care
• Experience with low-risk births and NICU would be a plus
• Flexibility in scheduling

Description :

The Registered Nurse will provide care in the Labor and Delivery department.

Nurses will work with low-risk births and some atypical cases, including gestational diabetes.

Clinical prescreen and assessment will be part of the hiring process.

Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas.

A driver's license is required for candidacy.

Nurses are expected to pass a competency exam during orientation.

Common drips administered include insulin, magnesium, and pitocin.

Patient care ratios will be 1 : 3 for mother-baby couplets and 1 : 1 for laboring patients.

Charge nurses will be present on each shift and will take patient assignments as well.

Weekend work will be required every third weekend.

Floating to other units is not required as this is a closed unit.

The cancellation policy allows for up to four shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment.

Charting will be completed using the EPIC system.
