Position Summary
The Construction Technologist is responsible for evaluating, implementing, supporting, and training on both existing and emerging technologies that advance our Manufacturing and Construction operations. This role plays a key part in optimizing processes, improving system integration, and supporting the organization's long-term growth through technology innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, maintain, and support technology platforms used within the Manufacturing Department, including Revit, FAB-MEP, Navisworks, Revizto, Flypaper Sherlock, Stratus, AR / VR / MR tools, Dynamo, Autodesk BIM 360 products, Trackvia, TigerStop, DADO, and VICTools.
- Partner closely with the Virtual Construction (VC) Operations Manager and Director of Manufacturing to evaluate, test, and select new software, hardware, and equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues impacting manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate with the IT team to ensure proper software deployment, updates, and system stability.
- Conduct beta testing of new tools and provide recommendations prior to full implementation.
- Train new and existing employees on current software systems and newly adopted technologies.
- Provide regular updates to VC and Manufacturing leadership, including recommendations for improvements and new solutions.
- Identify opportunities to enhance workflows, processes, and technology utilization.
- Oversee the integration of digital tools, fabrication equipment, and Virtual Construction systems.
Secondary Responsibilities
Produce and analyze reports measuring the effectiveness of technology tools and share insights with Manufacturing leadership.Research emerging technologies and methodologies to improve modeling accuracy and fabrication efficiency.Recommend adoption of new tools or retirement of underperforming systems.Build relationships with industry peers to stay informed on best practices and technology trends.Required Skills and Qualifications
Skilled in RevitStrong proficiency in AutoCAD (2018 or newer), Fabrication CADmep, Navisworks, and Autodesk BIM 360 products.Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.Clear and effective verbal and written communication abilities.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives while meeting deadlines.Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Bluebeam Revu.Solid understanding of construction industry workflows and practices.Education and Experience
Two or more years of formal AutoCAD training from a technical school or community college orSix or more years of relevant professional experience in a similar role.What's in it for you :
