Transmission Technician Apprentice

Jim Riehls Friendly Automotive Group is seeking a Transmission Technician Apprentice to join our team at our Warren location. This is a full-time, paid apprenticeship opportunity for an individual looking to build a long-term career specializing in Chrysler / Stellantis transmission systems.

Position Overview

The Transmission Technician Apprentice will work under the guidance of experienced transmission technicians while receiving hands-on, paid training. This role is ideal for someone with a solid mechanical foundation who is eager to learn, grow, and pursue required certifications.

Requirements

• Valid drivers license
• Clean driving record
• Michigan Motor Vehicle Apprentice Permit (available through the Michigan Secretary of State)
• General knowledge of vehicle systems
• Willingness to learn and be trained in Chrysler / Stellantis transmission systems
• Must pursue Michigan and / or ASE transmission certifications
• Basic mechanics tool set

Preferred Qualifications

• Michigan Mechanics License for Automobile & Light Truck Transmission or ASE equivalent
• Michigan Light Truck Manual Transmission, Front & Rear Drive Axles certification or ASE equivalent
• Prior Stellantis / Chrysler experience
