Engineer (U) - Utility

LEGENDS GLOBAL, the leader in privately managed public facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Utility Engineer at LEGENDS GLOBAL Oakland Arena and Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. This position reports directly to the Chief Engineer.

Hourly, Non-Exempt, Union

HOURLY RATE : Starting at $38.24 per hour

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Engineer, performs work as assigned and needed to maintain and repair facility operating systems. Prepare for and support events at the facility. This position should be able to maneuver through CMMS systems and BMS systems. Duties include skilled and semi-skilled tasks, which could require heavy lifting and a high degree of physical exertion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain mechanical and electrical spaces in a clean and orderly manner. Occasional painting is required.

Pick up parts, supplies, equipment for the Engineering Department from local vendors using company vehicle.

Assist Engineers in performance of utility type work (e.g., heavy lifting, changing HVAC filters, heat exchange and equipment cleaning, etc.)

Performs simple tasks and procedures such as re-lamping and fixture / diffuser cleaning, replacing ceiling tiles, door hardware adjustment and repairs, thermostat adjustment, minor plumbing repairs including drain cleaning, other handyman type work requiring the use of hand tools.

When necessary, works during events to assist assigned event engineers with may entail working at night, on weekends or holidays.

Performs other duties as assigned. Additional duties may be added from time to time with the approval of the Union.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform strenuous physical duties that may include, but are not limited to the following

Move and walk extensively around the facility.

Stand for long hours during events.

Kneel, stoop, reach, crawl and climb to high walkways.

Lift and / or move up to 50-80 pounds up to 10 minutes at a time.

Perform work through repetitive eye / hand coordination.

Able to balance and have good manual dexterity.

Work inside and outside of buildings.

Experience exposure to adverse conditions such as weather and loud noises.

May occasionally have to enter areas where fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals are present which will require ability to use respirator and / or other PPE.

HOURS OF WORK

• Must have the ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hours.
