Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), while embracing the core values of the organization, emphasizing quality, teamwork, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
- Identify teaching needs and goals based on the nursing admission assessment.
- Participate in weekly team conferences and provide timely patient information and documentation.
- Utilize the nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
- Initiate discharge planning upon admission and begin patient education prior to discharge.
- Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
- Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel while providing problem-solving direction.
- Ensure personal and environmental safety in compliance with hospital policies.
- Contribute positively to unit operations and participate in team-building activities.
- Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and clinical training.
- Assume charge responsibility when requested after the orientation period.
- Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.
- Perform related duties as requested.
