Position Description

We're looking for someone who's seen as a go-to expert in environmental and occupational health & safety (EH&S) - someone who understands both the technical side and how it fits into the bigger picture of our business. In this role, you'll take the lead on our Environmental Management System (EMS) and help drive our corporate safety programs forward.

You'll need to be comfortable navigating EH&S regulations and best practices, and be ready to guide others in doing the same. If you have a strong background in OSHA and EPA compliance, chemical safety, sustainable environmental practices, and injury / illness prevention - that's a big plus!

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance to all applicable governmental regulations and internal EH&S policies.
• Follow emerging regulatory developments, assess their potential impact on the company, and institute programs to achieve compliance in an efficient manner.
• Share accountability and responsibility with management to provide guidance and leadership in identifying opportunities to continuously improve performance and attain EH&S objectives.
• Provide effective internal communication of EH&S issues.
• Actively promote and foster a Behavior-Based Safety culture dedicated to eliminating "at risk" behaviors and unsafe conditions.
• Provide technical environmental expertise in combination with knowledge of the company's manufacturing and business processes to minimize waste.
• Possess understanding and apply available technology and equipment to control and mitigate air and water pollution.
• Collect, analyze, and utilize EH&S metrics to eliminate environmental and safety risks and support attainment of company objectives.
• Provide EH&S support and expertise at multiple assigned facilities.
• Coordinate and conduct Safety Assessments and Environmental Audits, support and ensure implementation of corrective and preventative measures addressing findings.
• Continuously improve technical knowledge relevant to the position.
• Develop, plan, organize, and administer EH&S training.
• Possess self-motivation, leadership, strong team skills, maintain a positive attitude, and possess a high level of integrity.
