Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department position, requiring a MO or compact RN license and ACLS/PALS certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in the Emergency Department of a Level 1 trauma center with stroke and STEMI capabilities
• Includes care for both adult and pediatric emergency patients
• Float required between Emergency Department and ED Observation units
• Rotating day shifts (3x12 hours, 6:45 – 19:15), with work required on every other weekend
• Must be available to work at least 50 percent of holidays during the contract
• Cerner EMR is used; prior experience is preferred but not required
• Provide emergency care to patients with a wide range of conditions including trauma, stroke, cardiac, and pediatric emergencies
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
• Onsite CPI course may be completed if needed
• Frequent exposure to patients with potentially contagious illnesses
• Must be willing to float as required by departmental needs
• All requests for time off must be included at the time of application

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active MO or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration
• Current certifications: ACLS and PALS are required; CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience including at least 1 year in Emergency Department or Level 1 trauma setting
• Ability to meet physical demands including ambulating and moving objects weighing 20 lbs or more, with or without accommodation
• Must be able to work rotating shifts including during inclement weather
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius to qualify for travel pay rates
• First-time travelers will be considered if they have Level 1 trauma experience
