Genesee & Wyoming ("G&W") is a growing short line railroad operator with a broad North American and UK / European footprint. G&W owns or leases more than 100 freight railroads globally with 4,000 employees serving more than 2,000 customers over 13,000 track miles. The Tax Intern will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of G&W's state income tax returns as well as special projects as necessary.

The internship is full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer semester in our Rochester, NY office and paid at a rate of $21.00 hourly.

Responsibilities :

• Compliance prepare various state and other miscellaneous tax returns to ensure compliance with local and state laws
• Research perform basic tax research on domestic tax issues, including state and local tax questions, and various other related issues
• Handle administrative tasks such as data entry for tax returns, printing and scanning
