The position is based in our Aurora, Illinois office, but as an engineering tech – construction, you’ll be where the action is, on the job sites, in the thick of construction. What you’ll do

Qualified candidate will provide support to the engineering functions of the firm.  He / She would be knowledgeable of methods used in taking field measurements, observing construction projects, and generally provides field and office technical “hands-on” activities to carry out the firm’s work.  They would also understand and interpret drawings, plans, details, and specifications in the field on construction projects.

• Field work will primarily consist of construction observation and documentation of work in progress, keeping daily records of quantities and activities, verifying material specifications, and ensuring compliance with plans and specifications.
• Field measurements for record drawings and verifying compliance to plan will utilize some survey equipment, such as GPS, optical or laser lever, and hand tools, such as measuring rod and tape.
• Office work may include review of drawings or specifications as part of our QC / QA program.
• Maintain equipment used in the field and in the office.
• May assist with copying, making plan sets, filing, library maintenance, or other duties as assigned.
• A team player and understands the need to maintain client confidentiality of all project work.
• More extensive survey or CAD experience is a plus
