Safety Engineer – Manufacturing Overview : The Safety Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and procedures to ensure a safe working environment in a manufacturing facility. This role involves identifying potential hazards, conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards, and promoting a culture of safety across all levels of the organization. Key Responsibilities : Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments of equipment, processes, and workspaces. Develop and enforce safety policies, procedures, and training programs. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to integrate safety into process design and equipment modifications. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA). Lead safety meetings and training sessions for employees and management. Monitor and report on safety performance metrics and trends. Recommend and implement improvements to reduce workplace hazards and improve ergonomics. Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field. 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial safety role. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety standards. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or ASP (Associate Safety Professional) are a plus.
