Here's a summary of responsibilities :

U.S. Paralympics Swimming is seeking an exceptional and visionary Para Swimming Resident Team Program Coach to lead a world-class group of Paralympic athletes toward LA28 podium success. Based at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, this role is at the heart of the nation’s high-performance Para Swimming movement.

The ideal coach is both an elite technician and strategist and a leader of people, driven to cultivate excellence through data-informed decision-making, performance science integration, and a relentless commitment to athlete well-being and growth. This position offers the rare opportunity to shape the trajectory of U.S. Paralympics Swimming and mentor the next generation of Paralympic medalists. This position is anticipated to be a 1-year assignment, with potential eligibility for renewal after that period.

Here’s how you’ll have an impact :

Lead the Pursuit of Podium Success

  • Develop and execute performance strategies for the U.S. Paralympics Swimming Resident Team Program, targeting LA28 medal outcomes.
  • Identify, recruit, and elevate athletes with the potential to compete at the highest levels of Paralympic sport.
  • Serve as the lead / home coach for all Resident Team athletes, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and trust.

Create a World-Class Performance Environment

  • Design and deliver cutting-edge training plans for all Resident Team athletes using data analytics, performance tracking, and evidence-based methodologies.
  • Collaborate with performance service teams (physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, strength and conditioning, psychology, recovery, and sports medicine) to optimize athlete development.
  • Ensure a high-performance culture aligned with athlete safety, SafeSport, anti-doping, and holistic athlete welfare principles.
  • Track athlete performance, sport science data, and quarterly progress reports as relevant for the program.

    • Collaborate and Innovate Across Systems

  • Partner closely with USOPC performance experts and other specialists to integrate multidisciplinary support into the daily training environment.
  • Contribute to talent identification (TID), athlete development, and talent transfer strategies to expand the Para Swimming talent pipeline.
  • Open the Resident Team Program environment to select coaches for mentoring and applied learning opportunities.
  • Partner with the Paralympic Swimming staff to manage Team USA event operations, camps, clinics, inventory, and other program operations as needed.

    • Drive Strategic and Operational Excellence

  • Ensure the Resident Team Program’s activities align with U.S. Paralympics Swimming’s mission, resources, and long-term athlete development framework.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of Swimming-specific programs within the overall internally managed sport (IMS) strategy, utilizing available resources and partnerships with other organizations as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise & Sport Science or related field or equivalent training and / or experience
  • U.S. Paralympics Swimming Para Coach certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Currently certified in First Aid, CPR, and Safety Training for Swim Coaches
  • 5 years of proven experience coaching at the elite or Paralympic level
  • Supervisory experience, preferably leading 2 or more coaches or staff
  • Expertise in swimming technique, race strategy, and performance analysis
  • Strong background in applying data analytics to inform coaching decisions
  • Proven ability to promote sport performance
  • Deep understanding of long-term athlete development principles
  • Understanding of World Para Swimming classification and points system
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead within a multi-disciplinary, high-performance environment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and contribute to a positive working environment

  • Hiring pay range $36.62 - $38.00 per hour
  • This Part-time, Non-Exempt, Temporary position is intended to work 30 hours per week for an anticipated 1-year assignment.
