The Role

Researches develops designs and tests electrical components equipment systems and networks. Designs electrical equipment facilities components products and systems for commercial industrial and domestic purposes.

This position is for the Interior Communications (IC) group working on Nimitz Class Aircraft Carriers.

A successful candidate will be able to do the following :

Technically review engineering products (i.e. drawings eIRs DFS DLAR DIM etc.) that will be issued to the waterfront and / or government.

Rapidly troubleshoot waterfront issues and help drive resolutions to completion.

Maintain knowledge of governing requirements to ensure deliverables stay in compliance.

Mentor and train less experienced teammates.

Must Have

• Bachelors Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience;
• Masters Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience;

Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.

Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelors Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Nice to Have

Previous experience / knowledge with IC circuits onboard aircraft carriers is preferred.
