American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in a Maternal Child department, requiring WY or compact RN license and advanced fetal monitoring certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in a hospital Maternal Child department including Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Well-Baby, and Level II NurseryCare for patients in 4 LDR rooms, 15 postpartum rooms, 7 well-baby beds, and 7 NICU bedsLabor & Delivery nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2, with 1 : 1 for mothers on Pitocin and in active labor when possiblePostpartum nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5 to 6 stable mothers or 3 stable coupletsHandles high-risk antenatal and perinatal patients with some tertiary level facility functions12-hour shifts with 36 hours per week, flexible to day, night, or rotating shiftsRequired to work every other weekend and holidays as neededOpportunity to pick up extra shiftsCollaborate with Maternal / Child manager, clinical supervisor, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient and family-centered careCoordinate and delegate unit and patient care activities as appropriateDepartment averages 65 deliveries per monthDeliveries under 32 weeks gestation are transferred to another facilityOR team handles C-sectionsScrubs are provided for nurses working in the Maternal Child department\n \n Requirements\n
Active WY or compact RN license required or eligibility for temporary WY license with clear backgroundMinimum 2 years of recent hospital experience in both Labor & Delivery and PostpartumCurrent BLS from the American Heart Association, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring certifications required prior to considerationExperience with Pitocin and / or magnesium drips requiredSubstantial experience managing high-risk antenatal / perinatal patients in a tertiary-level setting preferred\n Benefits\n
