  • REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field of study
  • Desire and ability to quickly learn the fundamentals of a broad range of new technologies in technical discipline
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with business leaders, attorneys, scientists and engineers, and patent examiners
  • RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reviewing technical disclosures and participating in client interviews to understand new inventions;
  • Reviewing and analyzing technical literature and patent documents to establish patentability of an invention;
  • Reviewing and analyzing patent documents to establish freedom-to-operate for client products;
  • Drafting written assessments of the prospects of obtaining patent protection;
  • Drafting patent applications;
  • Preparing responses to communications (“office actions”) from the United States Patent and Trademark Office and other patent offices; and
  • Reviewing patents and other materials as part of IP due diligence for potential mergers and acquisitions.
