Position Overview
The Pharmacist Level 1 plays a key role in supporting high-quality patient care within a hospital setting. This role is responsible for preparing and dispensing medications, providing evidence-based pharmacological information to the multidisciplinary care team, and monitoring patient drug therapies to ensure safety and efficacy. This is an inpatient-only position; experience limited to mailing prescriptions from a hospital system will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently prepare and dispense medications in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Provide pharmacokinetic and age-appropriate dosing recommendations based on current clinical literature.
- Support clinical teams by offering pharmacological guidance and answering questions related to formulary and non-formulary medications.
- Conduct patient education on medication usage, timing, potential side effects, and drug interactions as required by departmental standards.
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to drug therapies, ensuring optimal therapeutic outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory, safety, and documentation requirements.
Qualifications
Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy.1–2 years of experience as a licensed pharmacist (hospital experience preferred).Current pharmacy license in good standing.
