Orb Group is seeking a part-time Hardware Technician to join our dynamic Operational Service Center (OSC) team. As a company, we push the envelope of technology for content distribution, and our servers are one of our major connections between our tech and our customers. As a Hardware Technician, you will play an important role in our support for broadcasters’ distribution of syndicated content and live shows. WHAT YOU'LL DOImage, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot multiple Linux servers a day
Test for basic functionality of hardware in Linux operated servers
Summarize and process health tests on servers using a Linux system
Prepare and document incoming and outgoing shipments of servers
Configure IP addresses to multiple servers in a private domain and for customer environments
Maintain accurate and detailed records of each repair service performed
Maintain organization and management of physical inventory
Plan and perform the moving of equipment, racks, and peripheral equipment between offices
Partner with leaders to prepare and execute successful office relocation
Expand your responsibilities to provide support globally
2-3 years of relevant experience in an IT, hardware or similar position
Experience repairing and/or building servers or workstations
Working knowledge of basic Linux commands and bash scripts
Basic understanding of IT infrastructures and networking environments
Installation of Microsoft-based and Linux-based operating systems
Cable management in servers or workstations
Minimum education - GED/high school diploma
Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds with frequency.
Must be able to ascend and descend ladders occasionally.
Must be able to bend, kneel, and reach frequently.

Compensation: $20 - $22 an hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3-5 days per week, 20-25 hours per week between the hours of 8am-5pm
