Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Sign Language Interpreter to provide 1 : 1 support at an elementary school in the Decatur, GA area, with consideration for candidates in surrounding locations such as Douglasville, GA. This position offers leave coverage from July 1st through August 13th, serving a unique and engaging role in the educational environment.

The role involves working directly with a 3rd-grade student who divides their day between the Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) and general education classrooms. This position offers approximately 30 hours weekly, scheduled from 7 : 45 AM to 1 : 45 PM, providing meaningful interaction and support that enhances the students learning experience.

Key Responsibilities :

• Deliver clear and effective sign language interpretation for a 3rd-grade student during instructional times.
• Collaborate closely with the TDHH and general education teachers to ensure seamless munication and accessibility.
• Adapt munication strategies to meet the individual needs of the student in diverse classroom settings.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
