Position Summary :

The selected temporary technician will provide critical field and laboratory support for a spotted turtle project. Field activities include aquatic trapping, handling and marking of turtles, as well as radio-telemetry. Laboratory activities include helping design and conduct a pilot study evaluating the effects of temperature and salinity on spotted turtle health and physiology. The position will be based on the Savannah River Site(near Aiken, SC) but occasional travel to military installations in Virginia and / or Maryland may be required.

Physical Demands :

Work in harsh environmental conditions, including traversing wetlands in waders on hot, humid days.Lift 40 lbs.Operate 4WD vehicle and be able to drive several hours.Additional information for applicant : Have a safe driving record and be able to pass background check for work on Department of Defense installations and employment through University of Georgia.
