The CT Tech would be working for a Major Hospital and has career growth potential.

CT Tech Highlights :

Pay Range : $70-75 Hourly

Cat Scan Tech Responsibilities :

Demonstrates professionalism and service excellence during CT procedures.

Obtains necessary medical, surgical, and radiological supplies per protocol.

Maintains sterility of fields and instruments.

Correctly prepares requisitions.

Communicates with patients and families before, during, and after procedures while protecting privacy and dignity.

Adheres to HIPAA regulations and verifies patient identification per AHS policy.

Monitors patient condition before and after contrast injections; reports any changes.

Ensures availability of medical records, prior imaging, labs, and patient history.

Initiates emergency response when needed.

Maintains adequate linen, contrast media, and biopsy / drainage supplies in scanning rooms.

Adheres to CT room assignments (CT 1, 2, and 3).

Assists in maintaining CT storeroom and managing outside inventory.

Participates in daily inventory and supply stocking.

Notifies Lead of expired or soon-to-expire equipment or medications.

Cleans and inventories supplies; performs routine cleaning of CT gantry, table, and equipment.

When assigned as Point Tech :

Triages procedures per daily schedule.

Coordinates emergency and unscheduled procedure requests.

Assigns staff to maintain workflow efficiency and patient safety.

Communicates with departments and floors regarding patient status.

Ensures prompt patient transport after procedures.

Assists with routine CT procedures.

Screens patients for allergies and medication incompatibilities.

Maintains cleanliness and organization of CT rooms and working areas.

Reports equipment malfunctions to Coordinator or Lead.

Maintains QA / QC standards for daily, monthly, and ACR requirements.

Recognizes unusual equipment conditions and alerts appropriate staff.

Adheres to venipuncture and power injector protocols.

For urgent cases (Code Grey, Trauma, Partial Trauma) :

Acquires, processes, sends, and verifies images in PACS / RIS immediately per protocol.

Notifies radiologist as images are sent and follows up with processed data.

Reports any unusual findings to radiologist to ensure optimal patient care.

CT Tech Qualifications :

Required Education :

HS diploma / GED

Completion of a Radiographer Technical Training Program (School of Radiography or College program)

Required Certifications & Licensure :

ARRT RT(R)

ARRT RT(CT)

NJDEP ??? New Jersey State X-Ray License

BLS Certification

Preferred Certifications & Experience :
