Are you ready to pave the way to your future? We are seeking dedicated and skilled CEI Inspectors at entry-level, intermediate, and senior positions with relevant ALDOT certifications to join our dynamic team. This position is based in the Montgomery, AL area.
What you’ll be doing:
- Conducting thorough inspections to ensure adherence to contract documents, standards, and specifications.
- Performing material tests and evaluating project plans for compliance.
- Keeping accurate daily project diaries, identifying constructability issues, and troubleshooting to keep projects on track.
- Monitoring daily contractor operations to ensure quality and compliance with guidelines.
- Documenting pay records, performing construction calculations, and efficiently entering data via computers and iPads.
- Effectively communicating with contractors, subcontractors, utility owners, and property owners to minimize disruptions and enhance project progress.
- Conducting soil/base density tests using nuclear density equipment.
- Testing concrete on-site to guarantee quality standards are achieved.
What you need to have:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- ALDOT Certifications are a plus but not mandatory.
- Two (2) years of construction inspection experience, including at least one (1) year in bridge and/or roadway construction.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a drug test.
- Physical capability to perform moderate activities such as walking, climbing, balancing, kneeling, and standing.
- Willingness to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Commitment to following safety protocols in all operations.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to maintain a safe environment. Volkert adheres to federal regulations, which may include testing for substances like marijuana.
- A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
