About The Position
Job Title : Radiology Interventional Technologist

Hours per Shift : 10 hours (6 : 30 AM - 5 : 00 PM)
Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience with IR procedures and hands-on experience scrubbing in procedures with physicians
License : Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with an advanced registry in one of the following : Cardiac-Interventional Radiography, Vascular-Interventional Radiography, or Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography.
Certifications : Must maintain a Healthcare Provider certification (BLS).
Must-Have :
2 years of experience with IR procedural and hands-on scrubbing in procedures with physicians
Experience with IR lab and scrub role
Experience with emergent cases, embolization, and neuro intervention
Familiarity with Siemens equipment and knowledge of how to run CT spin
ACLS certification
Description :
Under the direction of a Radiologist, specializes in the performance of invasive procedures to aid in the evaluation of pathological entities as prescribed by a physician.
Explains examination procedures to patients and prepares patients for the examination.
Obtains additional information about the patient's medical history as necessary.
Prepares prescribed contrast media, medications, and IV solutions for administration to patients.
Reviews clinical data on requisition and analyzes anatomical structures of patients.
Sets up equipment and, following protocols, assists the Radiologist in performing complex diagnostic invasive procedures.
Prepares and sets up sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging equipment required for procedures.
Ensures that adequate supplies such as needles and catheters are on hand and properly stored.
Replenishes supplies as appropriate.
Actively assesses patient condition before, during, and following all procedures.
Manually controls the equipment to obtain the proper diagnostic information for the area of the body being studied.
May assist with the training of new personnel and / or students assigned to the division.
Performs all imaging procedures while demonstrating principles of radiation protection.
Resolves any image exceptions and ensures high-quality image delivery into PACS, including confirming image / series counts.
Completes all study indexing in the Radiology Information System.
Demonstrates Team Member Standards of Excellence, including open communication and fostering innovation.
Performs Quality Assurance procedures as appropriate.
Performs all documentation in the medical record as necessary, as well as within the radiology information system to support all clinical functions.
Utilizes independent judgment in determining appropriate imaging techniques, patient positioning, and safety practices.
