Overview :

Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for our Outpatient Pharmacy at Norfolk General Hospital

Location : Norfolk General Hospital

Status : Flexi / PRN (1- 8 hours shift per week with opportunities to pick up additional hours)

Shift : Rotating 8 hr Shifts

Hours : 8 : 45am-7 : 15pm

Occasional Saturdays and Holidays

The Pharmacy Technician performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist / licensed independent practitioner
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

• A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Certification / Licensure

Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)

CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)

Experience

Previous Pharmacy Tech Experience (Required)
