Technical Writer

Akkodis is seeking an Technical Writer / Illustrator for a Contract position with a client located in Everett WA . Looking for candidates with experience writing books for new products. Looking for deeper experience. Knowledge of due processes and some illustrations experience.

Pay Range : $40 / hr - $45 / hr on W2 (The pay may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. )

Key Responsibilities

Documentation DevelopmentDevelop and maintain user manuals for Health Solutions products, with a primary focus on new Fluke Biomedical products and additional support for RaySafe and Victoreen sustaining updates.

Create new product manuals from the ground up and ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency across all documentation.

Update and maintain existing content in alignment with established standards and document control practices.

Develop and maintain documentation templates and style guidelines.

Conduct QA reviews on existing documentation and implement updates as needed.

Illustration & Visual Content

Create and edit technical illustrations, including interpreting 3D files for product documentation.

Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure accuracy of visual content.

Graphic design expertise is not required; ability to produce clear, functional illustrations is sufficient.

Tools & Systems Author new documentation using FrameMaker .

Support legacy documentation authored in Microsoft Word .

Use Adobe Illustrator for light illustration work (nice-to-have, not mandatory).

Required Experience

Mid? to senior?level technical writing experience (not junior-level).

Demonstrated ability to create full product manuals, not just sustaining edits.

Experience working in regulated environments (medical, aerospace, defense / government, or similar).

Strong understanding of documentation processes, controls, and quality expectations.

Self?starter who can work independently, manage multiple projects, and drive documentation end?to?end.

Nice-to-Have

Experience working with 3D model–based illustrations.

Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator.

Familiarity with the style and structure of Biomedical user manuals (e.g., ESA700 Series).
