Position : Full-Time

Location : Rockview- Wyoming County

Southern Highlands is seeking compassionate, dedicated individuals to join our team as Peer Recovery Support Specialists (PRSS) . In this vital role, you will use your own lived experience in recovery to support, mentor, and empower others on their personal recovery journeys.

PRSS services go beyond traditional clinical care focusing on real-life support in home and community environments, building meaningful connections, and helping individuals stay engaged with their person-centered recovery plans.

✨ What You’ll Do :

Provide peer-to-peer support to individuals in recovery from substance use disorders

Serve as a role model of successful, sustained recovery

Help clients navigate resources, build coping skills, and stay connected to treatment

Foster hope, empowerment, and community connection

Collaborate with care teams to support each client’s recovery goals

High school diploma or equivalent

Lived experience of recovery from substance use disorders

Minimum of two (2) years of sobriety required

Preferred : At least one (1) year of experience working with individuals facing substance use challenges

Must hold a state or nationally recognized peer certification or complete required training per West Virginia Department of Health and Human Services (DoHS)
