Technical Documentation & IT Support Specialist

Our insurance client is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Documentation & IT Support Specialist to support internal teams by creating clear technical documentation, processing service requests, and ensuring timely resolution of IT support tickets. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, communicates clearly, and enjoys working in a structured, fast-paced technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain technical documentation, process guides, SOPs, and knowledge base articles
• Translate technical information into clear, professional documents for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Receive and document service requests, change orders, and user requirements accurately
• Manage and prioritize IT service tickets, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
• Coordinate with IT engineers and stakeholders to collect information, clarify requests, and document outcomes
• Maintain organized records of requests, approvals, and completed tasks
• Assist with writing reports, client deliverables, proposals, and system handover documents as needed
• Ensure documentation is version-controlled, consistent, and aligned with company standards
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and suggest enhancements to documentation workflows

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of experience in technical writing, IT support, and service coordination
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear and accurate documentation
• Experience working with IT service ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, Zendesk, ConnectWise)
• Basic understanding of IT systems, networking, hardware, or software support environments

This role is in the office 5 days per week in central Houston, TX.
