In this crucial role within our Infrastructure and Services Group, you will :
- Design and develop HVAC and plumbing systems, focusing on master planning, feasibility studies, and mechanical systems like co-generation, all while integrating sustainability principles and ensuring client compliance.
- Review draft designs to maintain adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Conduct site reviews and studies, aligning designs to specific location requirements and adjusting design needs as necessary.
- Enhance the firm's Technical Knowledge Management by developing white papers and technical design documentation, contributing to technical journals.
- Participate in industry conferences and symposia to elevate the firm's visibility, while collaborating with sales teams to maximize outreach.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, supporting their professional growth and supervising project work as needed.
- Take on additional responsibilities as required.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Architectural, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline. Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in jurisdictions where EIT is unavailable (must achieve within 18 months of hire, promotion, or transfer).5 years of relevant experience.Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Willingness to travel domestically and / or internationally, depending on specific responsibilities and project demands.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience on large, complex projects in a multi-disciplinary environment.Capability to mentor and guide junior engineers.Prior experience with Autodesk Revit for creating detailed mechanical drawings.Familiarity with building codes, ASHRAE standards, and sustainable design practices.Experience with high-performance building design focused on energy, water, and carbon reduction.Why Choose CDM Smith?
