Truck / Trailer Mechanic

Salary: up to $50 per hour based on experience

A trucking company located in Bedford Park, IL is looking to hire an experienced Truck / Trailer Mechanic.

Top pay and benefits offered. Candidates should be familiar with light, medium and heavy vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair different types of mechanical issues for fleet of semi trucks
• Inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing semi-truck and trailer bodies, systems, and components
• Performing preventative maintenance measures on semi-trucks and trailers
• Inspecting, servicing, and replacing trailer parts, including tires
• Checking and repairing the brake, electrical, hydraulic and steering systems
  
• Testing all systems and equipment for performance issues
  
• Handle maintenance procedures
• Ability to identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Replace damaged parts and change fluids
• Repair and maintain tools and machinery
  
• Make emergency field repairs to on site mobile equipment as necessary

Requirements :

• A minimum of 1 year experience as a truck / trailer mechanic
  
• In-depth knowledge of vehicle systems, such as hydraulics, air brakes, and electrical systems
• Extensive experience with vehicle diagnostic equipment
• Exceptional understanding of mechanical and technical information
