Adventist Health Castle Medical Assistant

Located in Kailua, Adventist Health Castle has been one of the area's leading healthcare providers since 1963. Job Summary : Performs non-invasive, routine, technical support services under the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse midwife.

Job Requirements

  • High School Education / GED or equivalent : Required

Licenses / Certifications

  • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution : Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification : Required
  • Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP : Preferred
  • Phlebotomy certificate : Preferred

    • Facility Specific License / Certifications

  • AHA-BLS : Required
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or California Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Medical Assistant - NCCT (NCCT) or Certified Medical Assistant- NHA (CMA-NHA) or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or American Medical Tech Board MA (MA-AMT) or Medical Assistant (MA) : Required

    • Essential Functions

  • Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients. Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals and transfers.
  • Obtains vital signs, and reports significant findings and pertinent patient observations to clinic physician.
  • Performs audiometry and vision testing.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
