Job Summary :

Helps the patient accomplish the established treatment plan and accept therapeutic devices by administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities and in using assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses. Administers physical therapy treatments to include, but not limited to : therapeutic exercise; manual therapy; manual lymphatic drainage; traction; diathermy; aquatic therapy, moist packs, and therapeutic ultrasound. Motivates patients during treatment in order to help them function optimally. Ensures patient safety at all times. Contributes to physical therapist's effectiveness by identifying patient care issues; providing information and commentary; recommending options and courses of action; and implementing physical therapist's directives.

Qualifications / Requirements :

Graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant Education Program.

Current Arkansas PTA license in good standing is required.

Current CPR Certification.

1 year of experience is strongly preferred.
