As an After School Counselor , you will play and laugh with K-5th graders, as you implement activities and lessons that help them thrive. Shifts for this job are after school every Monday through Friday, each day school is in session.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Design and implement daily lesson / activity plans within established guidelines.
- Supervise children, classroom, and all activities.
- Ensure the children's safety.
- Make ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child..
- Maintain required program records including sign in / sign out rosters.
- Attend and participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and training.
- Address emergencies as they occur.
- Develop positive, authentic relationships with children from different backgrounds.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of college preferred.Must be at least 18 years of age.Prior experience working with children in a developmental setting & with diverse populations preferred.PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Ability to lead and participate in activities in both indoor and outdoor settings, in various temperatures.Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, stoop, bend, crouch, see, hear, listen and lift (up to 50 pounds).Work schedule
