Key Job Details – Hematology / Oncology Physician

Location : Marquette, Michigan (Upper Peninsula, ZIP 49855)

Setting : Outpatient Hematology / Oncology clinic (minimal inpatient consults)

Schedule : 2 weeks per month (consecutive preferred); 8am–5pm, Monday–Friday

Call : Occasional night and weekend phone call (low volume)

Patient Load : 10–15 patients per day

Assignment Duration : Ongoing locum tenens assignments available

Facility Type : Level 2 trauma center

Credentialing Time : Estimated 60 days

Physician Qualifications

Board Certified Physician (MD) in Internal Medicine with Hematology / Oncology subspecialty

Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in Hematology / Oncology

Active ACLS and BLS certifications

Completed Fellowship in Hematology / Oncology

Michigan medical license required (IMLC not accepted)

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Hematology / Oncology Physician Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive outpatient care for hematology and oncology patients

Conduct new patient consults (60 minutes) and follow-up visits (30 minutes)

Participate in weekly tumor boards and collaborate with genetic counselors, research associates, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Manage occasional inpatient consults (primarily handled by APPs)

Provide phone call coverage (minimal call volume)

Utilize ONCO EMR for clinical documentation and patient management

Work closely with RNs, patient navigators, pharmacists, lab technicians, and support staff in a well-resourced office
