As a Practical Nursing Specialist, you'll provide the highest level of quality medical care to Soldiers and their families by performing preventive, therapeutic, and emergency nursing care under the supervision of a physician, registered nurse, or non-commissioned Officer.
- Patient Care : Performs preventive, therapeutic, and emergency nursing care procedures. This includes providing basic comfort, helping with daily activities, and assisting with patient admissions and discharges.
- Emergency Care : Performs emergency nursing care, which can include life-saving measures like CPR, in combat, non-combat, and disaster situations.
- AMEDD Enlisted Commissioning Program (AECP) : The Army offers a specific internal program for eligible enlisted soldiers (including 68Cs) to earn their BSN and become commissioned officers in the Army Nurse Corps (ANC). In this program, soldiers remain on active duty, retain their rank and pay, and the Army covers most of the tuition and fees for an accredited BSN program at a civilian university.
