Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the staff assigned to the Seminole Tribe of Florida (STOF) Tribal Historic Preservation Office's (THPO) Archaeometry Section with all aspects related to data processing, engineering, and methods including Geographic Information Systems (GIS), THPO database management, visualization, machine learning, program coding, spatial information and archaeological sciences. The individual assists the Chief Data Analyst in successful integration and management of spatial field data within the existing THPO geodatabases and integration to non-GIS data. The incumbent provides support to other THPO staff with the integration of GIS and database best practices within cultural resource management, historic preservation and archaeological sciences. This technical specialist uses their expertise in advanced data science skills and leveraging appropriate mapping techniques to meet the needs of the THPO.
