We are looking for a detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Chesapeake, Virginia. This role involves supporting the payroll and garnishments department by accurately entering data and ensuring compliance with established procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong typing skills and a keen eye for accuracy.

Responsibilities :

• Process incoming payroll mail and organize documents for further action.
• Accurately input garnishment codes into the system to ensure compliance.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail when performing data entry tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to address discrepancies or errors.
• Ensure all payroll-related data is handled securely and within confidentiality guidelines.
• Manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively while maintaining accuracy.
• Utilize computer systems and software tools to perform data entry efficiently.
• Review and verify data for completeness and correctness.
• Provide support to the payroll department in administrative tasks as needed.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures in all work processes.
• At least 2 years of experience in data entry or a related role.
• Proficiency in numeric and text data entry with high accuracy.
• Strong typing skills and familiarity with computer-based data entry systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with payroll processes or garnishments is a plus.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
