Job Summary

The Patient Services Representative (PSR) serves as the primary point of contact for patients and represents the organization in a professional, compassionate, and trustworthy manner. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood and other clinical / forensic specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring accuracy, safety, and confidentiality at all times. The PSR creates a positive patient experience while supporting life-defining health decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection (clinical and forensic) following established policies and procedures
• Accurately label specimens in the presence of the patient and obtain patient initials / signature post-collection
• Verify patient identity and demographic information prior to specimen collection
• Prepare, process, and package specimens for laboratory testing
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and required logs
• Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients and address questions professionally
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and attention to detail
• Protect patient confidentiality and ensure data accuracy
• Promote a positive company image to patients, clients, employees, and the public
• Perform daily duties accurately and on time under the direction of an area supervisor
• Work in various settings including patient service centers, physician offices, and other assigned locations
