Responsibilities:
Inspects construction contracts and activities for water and wastewater facility projects
Reviews plans and specifications for constructibility, accuracy, and potential issues
Plans, schedules, and conducts comprehensive site inspections
Coordinates construction-related system shutdowns and outages with client facilities
Prepares detailed inspection reports and maintains thorough daily logs
Organizes and updates all project documentation, including photo records
Tracks construction progress, field changes, and as-built conditions with precision
Develops monthly estimates of completed construction quantities
Builds and maintains strong working relationships with contractors, consultants, and project owners
Qualifications:
Comprehensive knowledge of standard construction specifications, codes, and special standards for water and wastewater facility projects
Proficient in construction methods, materials, and equipment used in utility and infrastructure work
Strong understanding of soil compaction techniques, density testing procedures, and concrete handling, placement, curing, and sampling practices
Thorough knowledge of OSHA Construction Safety Orders and related safety protocols
Skilled in maintaining clear, accurate, and organized project records
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in computer applications and internet-based tools
High school diploma or equivalent required
2–5 years of progressive experience in field inspection or related construction work
Completion of OSHA 10-hour safety training and other relevant construction certifications
