Colorado Youth Bands (formerly named Colorado Honor Band Association) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit children\'s music education charity in the Denver area. Since 1953, it has provided band opportunities to students aged 9-18, spanning a wide range of educational opportunities, locations, and socio-economic levels.
Purpose : The General Counsel (the “GC”) of the Colorado Youth Bands (the “Organization”) Board of Directors (the “Board”) shall oversee the Organization\'s legal position and risk profile, ensure legal compliance, review organizational contracts, and assist with external legal issues as they arise. The GC should be a practicing attorney to ensure compliance.

Other board Trustees, the Organization\'s Program Director, and financial support staff.
Time Commitment
About 5 hours per month and as needed. All members of the Board of Directors, including the GC, are volunteers and do not receive a salary.

Colorado Youth Bands is governed by a Board of Directors that relies on fundraising, guidance, and volunteer support. Trustees are elected for 2-year terms with no term limit and serve as volunteers.
