We serve as a trusted partner to government agencies, universities, and regional innovation ecosystems, helping to strengthen the U.S. industrial base and accelerate technology transition. The STEM Educator will play a key role in communicating ETCs impact, supporting client program success, and expanding awareness of ETCs capabilities across the defense and technology communities. This individual will work closely with clients, program teams, and leadership to ensure that marketing, outreach, and communications strategies support both mission objectives and ETCs organizational growth.
JOB DESCRIPTION :
- Energetics Technology Center (ETC) is seeking a dynamic STEM Educator to join our team in promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education and workforce development.
- This full-time hybrid position is supporting out-of-school programs in Charles, Baltimore, Prince George's and other counties in Maryland. The role requires on-site work in Indian Head, MD, with remote work when not needed on-site, except when teaching classes at partner locations in Maryland and as needed in the summer at sites in Texas, California, and Florida.
JOB DUTIES :
Design and teach engaging, project-based STEM curriculum for grades 6-12, covering topics such as engineering design, coding, robotics, and additive manufacturing for after-school programs and summer camps.Assist in planning and executing STEM outreach events, workshops, and classes, collaborating with industry, non-profits, and academia to enhance ETCs STEM initiatives.Co-host STEM programs locally and nationally to foster enthusiasm for STEM within the organization and broader community.Provide mentorship to ETC interns, evaluate student progress, and offer constructive feedback to support their learning journey.Keep abreast of advancements in educational technology and STEM education to ensure innovative teaching practices.Create a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages exploration, creativity, and critical thinking.Propose hardware and software upgrades to meet student needs and enhance learning experiences.Collaborate effectively with organizational leadership, community members, and stakeholders to advance ETCs mission.POSITION LOCATION :
This role requires on-site work in Indian Head, MD, with remote work for those days when not needed on-site.This role may also require some on-site teaching at partner locations in Charles, Baltimore, Prince George's and other counties in Maryland and as needed during the summer at sites in Texas, California, and Florida.EXPERIENCE :
Minimum 3 years of experience in related or similar fields.Proven experience designing and teaching student-centered, project-based STEM curriculum for grades 6-12.Ability to deliver curriculum in both in-person and remote classroom settings.Proficient in Google Classroom for classroom management and content delivery.Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.Excellent communication and engagement skills with organizational leadership, stakeholders, and community members.Proficiency in integrating a variety of educational technologies to enrich and differentiate instruction, preferred.EDUCATION : Required :
Bachelors degree in a STEM field or Education.Preferred :
