Miracle Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is looking to hire a Part Time and Full Time Speech Therapist in Tallahassee, Florida. Come be a part of a family and not just another employee? The Speech Therapist, provides comprehensive speech therapy and language development services to a specified population of residents. Screens and evaluates residents; develops and implements therapeutic speech and language development program and services, under the general supervision of the Director of Therapy.

• Provides Speech Therapy services to patients and initiates referrals when appropriate and in accordance with Speech Therapy Department procedures.
• Examines, tests, diagnoses, and administers treatments for residents with speech and language disorders, hearing disorders, and oral motor disorders.
• Evaluates patients to obtain data necessary for treatment planning and implementation. Conducts specialized evaluations as indicated.
• Interprets and communicates evaluation findings to patients, family, and other team members.
• Establishes individual patient schedules in conjunction with other team members.
• Develops treatment plans by identifying a problem list, including short and long term goals and methods to achieve identified goals.
• Coordinates treatment plan with patient, family, and other team members.
• Monitors patient's response to intervention and modifies treatment as indicated to attain goals in accordance with physician orders.
• Recommends and obtains appropriate equipment to improve patient's communication. Instructs patient, family and staff in use of augmentative communication devices.
• Participates in discharge planning.
• Develops appropriate home or community programming to maintain and enhance the performance of the patient in their own environment.
• Documents results of patient's assessment, treatment, follow-up, and termination of services.

Position Requirements

• Current Speech Therapist licensure in good standing in the state of practice, and all other states where license is held
• Minimum of one year of experience in skilled nursing environment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility
• Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening
• Must be able to pass a drug screening
• Ability to follow Oral and Written instructions
• Pleasant and cheerful personality
• Tactful and Courteous approach with residents, family members, staff, and visitors
• Maintain confidentiality
• Follow all policies/procedures and regulations
