Cloud & Applications Engineer

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include designing, deploying, and managing monitoring strategies to proactively identify problems, creating solutions to resolve technical problems, managing and maintaining the Azure eco-system, and contributing to the application product roadmap. This position will collaborate closely with other IT organizations across the university to prevent / resolve issues and to contribute towards the overall technical direction of the University. The ideal candidate would possess a strong operational mindset focused on creating a reliable and efficient application environment across the entire University Advancement eco-system.

Overall goal is to provide a robust, smooth-running application eco-system spanning all technologies that allows the organization to most effectively achieve their mission within the university.

Required Qualifications

Education / Experience :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 1-5 years of Azure experience
• 3-7 years of IT operational experience

Job Summary

RIT University Advancement is embarking on an ambitious multi-year project to transform its technical stack that will include Azure and Salesforce cloud services. Working as part of an IT team, the Cloud and Application Operations Engineer will design, deploy, manage, and maintain a suite of applications and tools that ensure smooth and efficient operations for the division by monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements. This position will also be primarily responsible for provisioning and maintaining Azure services within our subscriptions.
