Senior Backend Engineer - Python

Our client, a technology company supporting the utility and energy sector, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer - Python to join their team. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering organization supporting product and platform development teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and technical leadership ability, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title : Senior Backend Engineer - Python

Location : Phoenix, AZ

Type : Full-time (Direct hire)

What's the Job?

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend services and APIs

Collaborate with frontend and cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions

Optimize applications for performance, reliability, scalability, and security

Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers

Contribute to backend architecture and engineering best practices

What's Needed?

7+ years of backend engineering experience using Python

Strong experience building APIs with FastAPI or similar frameworks

Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred)

Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized environments

Ability to work independently and contribute quickly in a fast-paced environment
