A purchasing Manager oversees all aspects of a company's procurement process, from sourcing and acquiring goods to managing their receipt and storage. This dual role is critical for maintaining an efficient supply chain, controlling costs, and ensuring a continuous flow of materials and products for a business. They typically lead a team of purchasing agents and receiving clerks.

Duties and Responsibilities

Purchasing Responsibilities

• Supplier Management & Sourcing : Retaining or selecting new suppliers and vendors. Build and maintain strong.
• Negotiation & Contracts : Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best possible prices, quality, and delivery schedules.
• Procurement Strategy : Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures that align with the company's financial goals and operational needs.
• Market Analysis & Forecasting : Stay up-to-date on market trends and price fluctuations to make informed purchasing decisions and forecast future demand to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
• Purchase Orders : Oversee the creation and management of purchase orders, ensuring they are accurate and processed in a timely manner.
• Standard Operating Procedures : Develop and maintain SOP of the department.
